Videojet Technologies Inc. has unveiled V491-C yellow ink suitable for the 1710 printer model, which is available in the 1000 Line of continuous ink jet printers. Printing on extruded and rolled cable and wire can now be done without any transfer of ink code by using the latest V491-C yellow from Videojet. V491-C ink can be used during the coding of several extruded rubber products before they enter the high temperature vulcanization curing process and also during cable printing.
In a release, John Kirschner, MD, Supplies, Videojet said, “Our customers in the wire and cable marking industry will benefit from a high-performing printer that is reliable, easy to maintain and is now complemented by yet another high-contrast pigment ink. With the introduction of the V491-C yellow ink, we’re broadening the range of applications for the popular 1710 ink jet printer.”
Product training and stipulations can be assigned by cable and wire manufacturers with extraordinary readability on colored cable production lines by using the V491-C yellow ink, as the yellow ink offers the best possible contrast. The ink, which is capable of bonding extremely well, can endure contact, pressure and residual heat. The ink is therefore ideal for conditions where recently manufactured and coded cable or wire is coiled for storage and shipment, thereby decreasing the risk of ink code transfer and fading.
Kirschner said, “Manufacturing processes in the wire, cable and extruded products industries are difficult and costly to stop and restart, so printer uptime, reliability and ease of maintenance are key. We’ve removed many of the challenges associated with pigmented inks by automating once manual processes and reducing maintenance so customers can reap the benefits of continual high-performance from their ink jet printers.”
An ink jet printing offering, which is best suited for high temperature vulcanization processes, is offered by the Videojet 1710 printer and V491-C yellow ink. Unlike other pigment inks that fade or disappear entirely during the curing process, the V491-C yellow ink is capable of enduring 350�F high-pressure steam heat and can preserves its color and critical code information. Manufacturers, who are required to trace the product batches, are offered code assurance by the dependable V491-C ink.
