Lightower Develops New Net Access Data Center in Cedar Knolls, NJ

Data centers are a crucial part of the infrastructure upon which a variety of information technology services are built. To cater emerging challenges in storage, networking, management and power/thermal aspects, Lightower builds new Data center in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey.


According to a press release, Lightower Fiber Networks, a metro fiber and bandwidth provider in the Northeast, and Net Access Corporation , a supplier of data center and cloud services made an announcement that Lightower has completed a diverse build into the Net Access data center in Cedar Knolls.

With the motive to grow business in the New York / New Jersey metropolitan areas, this new facility expands Lightower’s data center access in critical NY/NJ metro region and offers a complete suite of services at new data center, including dark fiber, Ethernet and wavelengths up to 100G, video transport, ultra-low latency solutions, and private networking. The company offers diverse routing and diverse points-of-entry to facility for added resiliency.

It offers to a complete suite of all-fiber networking services from Lightower including access to over 3,500 Lightower service locations throughout the Northeast. 

 “Lightower owns and operates one of the most extensive fiber networks in the Northeast, and especially in the New York City and New Jersey region.  The addition of the Net Access data center in Cedar Knolls provides great value for our mutual customers,” stated Herb Boynton, VP of Sales at Lightower. “The Net Access facility is state-of-the-art, confirming our partnership strategy of providing the best options for our clients at every opportunity.”

Spread across in a 50,000 square-foot facility, the Net Access Cedar Knolls data center offers Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) and generator-backed power available in N, N+1 and 2N configurations. Additionally, the facility provides high-density power areas capable of 20kW per cabinet, redundant network connectivity, N+1 cooling, security systems featuring proximity card, biometric fingerprint and facial scanning, exterior and interior CCTV cameras, and 24x7x365 onsite operations center staff.
