The Summit Infrastructure Group recently announced that it had officially launched its business, to focus on providing custom network solutions and bandwidth infrastructure to data centers, carriers and enterprise customers. SummitIG will specialize in providing dark fiber infrastructure.

"As demand for broadband and cloud service infrastructure continues to grow, bandwidth intensive businesses and communications companies need new ways to effectively serve customers and scale networks,” said Bill Cook, president and CEO at SummitIG. “Dark fiber has become an excellent solution for managing bandwidth levels while preserving and maximizing IT investments. With expertise in network construction and commitment to service delivery, SummitIG offers fast, reliable and cost effective solutions that allow customers to easily scale their networks right along with the growth of their businesses."

The company will specifically focus on dark fiber networks that can both support and effectively expand connectivity for data centers spanning multiple points and carrier neutral locations.

SummitIG will further consolidate support for these networks via a wide range of professional services geared toward improved management and maintenance of network connectivity solutions, as well as the maintenance of infrastructure, and personalized services.

The company provides infrastructure connectivity from any point of need for customers.

"We have worked with many data center operators and are continually listening to their needs and challenges,” Cook said. “Because of our expertise in dark fiber networks, we make it possible for companies to provide an even more compelling value for customers. With SummitIG, data centers have the opportunity to not only deliver their core services of space and power, but also offer connectivity beyond their own buildings to other locations.”

Carriers and enterprise customers of SummitIG are provided with custom infrastructure development designed to address bandwidth expansion requirements based on current usage as well as for the future. The company’s professional services team develops and customizes solutions with respect to the client’s individual needs.
