Xand and DBSi recently made an announcement confirming a merger. Xand is a facilities-based provider of data center infrastructure, colocation, cloud and managed services, while DBSi offers flexible, cost-effective, mission-critical technology solutions.
The merger between both companies has resulted in the establishment of a privately held data center firm which will provide the Northeast marketplace with unrivalled services. DBSi was assisted by DH Capital who served as exclusive financial advisor with the merger transaction.
“DBSi’s impressive facilities, employees, and customer base are a natural fit for the expansion of Xand’s Northeast platform,” said David Struwas, Xand’s CEO. “Both companies share a passionate, customer-centric culture and are leading innovators of data center managed services for the enterprise.”
Serving more than 1000 customers via its data centers in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts, Xand will now include three raised-floor facilities in Pennsylvania and provide its new market-base with advanced colocation, cloud, business continuity and managed services.
With the merger, Xand has now included a fourth state within its Northeast platform.
“The combination of DBSi and Xand will enable our customers to capitalize upon enhanced cloud, business continuity and managed services offerings, as well as additional facilities and resources to better meet their growing IT infrastructure requirements,” said William Bachenberg, DBSi’s current CEO, who will serve in a technical advisory role within the new firm.
The new company presents businesses with an opportunity to organize both primary and secondary IT environments spanning three critical metropolitan areas – New York, Boston and Philadelphia – as well as within four states.
ABRY Partners, North American-based private equity investment firm, acquired Xand in October of 2011. In March of 2012, the company was then merged with Access Northeast of Marlboro, Massachusetts.
