JT Global will utilize software from Netadmin Systems, an open access network management specialist company based in Sweden, for deploying a complete fiber to the home or FTTH network. The FTTH network will be implemented by JT Global, previously known as Jersey Telecom, at all 42,000 premises on Jersey in less than three years.
In December 2011, JT Global had implemented a pilot of the Netadmin offering. The Netadmin solution will now be made available across the complete project in order to computerize the service fulfillment and assurance processes. JT and other service providers in Jersey will be offered a comprehensible platform by the Netadmin solution, thereby assisting them with starting their services.
In a release, Dave Newbold, COO and CTO, JT Global said, “With the implementation of a full FTTH network planned, and such an advanced network management system soon in place, Jersey is one of the most innovative and commercially viable environments to do business in the Western hemisphere. Netadmin is recommended by some of the most experienced FTTH network engineers and has an excellent track record in projects across the world. With a dominant presence in Sweden, one of the world’s most advanced countries for fibre infrastructure; they are coming from a position of knowledge and experience.”
Functional assistance for computerized service fulfillment like inventory and resource management along with ticket management and SLA statistics will be offered by the platform.
Netadmin is being helped by technology associates Cisco, Genexis and Dimension Data (News - Alert) on the project.
