ChinaCache International Holdings Ltd. ("ChinaCache") and Hutchison Global Communications Limited (HGC) publically announced on Wednesday that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collectively explore the Asian markets for the provision of a Content Delivery Network (CDN).

As per the MOU, ChinaCache will establish a content delivery network with Cloud nodes at Hutchinson’s data centers. The facilities for setting up the CDN would be supplied by HGC.

The new association plans to liaise and work together and develop the markets of China, Hong Kong and other regions of South East Asia and provide top-quality services to customers of these markets.

CDN is an online based content and application distribution network that enhances online user experience by stabilizing and accelerating file downloads, video streaming, online transactions, instant messaging and webpage views, in addition to other features.

Hutchison Global Communications Limited owns one of the largest optical fiber networks in Hong Kong. It was founded in 1995 and its head office is located in Tsing Yi, Hong Kong. HGC provides a wide range of services both locally and internationally, including telecommunication services that provision Wi-Fi, mobile, residential broadband, telephone lines and IDD services to both local and international customers.

The organization also supplies prepaid phone cards, internet access, wholesale and carrier data and voice, and IDD services.

ChinaCache International Holdings Ltd. is one of the top providers of content delivery network services in China. Its network is operated by all major telecom carriers, non-carriers and local ISPs. It also has over a decade of experience in designing solutions via the internet infrastructure of the Chinese.

It is an ideal partner of choice for governmental agencies and big enterprises to improve end-user experience and enhance the reliability of online services. It’s a partnership that makes sense.

The two companies indicated that they planned to work closely and support each other in developing the Chinese, Hong Kong and South East Asian markets, and hoped to provide high-quality services that would enhance the user experience.

Founder, chairman and chief executive officer for ChinaCache, Song Wang, said they were very excited about the new partnership with HGC as they had a strong presence not only in Hong Kong, but globally. They looked forward to sharing their expertise in CDN with HGC, and hoped to provide world-class services to customers in Asia.

The president of International Business at HGC, Andrew Kwok, said ChinaCache’s rich CDN services will further enhance the service portfolio of HGC. It will also help access China’s Internet content in terms of speed and volume for customers both in Hong Kong and abroad.
