Macomnet Delivers Dark Fiber Pairs to IXcellerate

IXcellerate, the Russian Alliance Member of the International Data Centre Group, reportedly utilized dark fiber pairs from Macomnet in the construction of its Moscow data center.

Macomnet, a Russian telecommunication operator, stated that existing multi-service network today in full measure enables to provide Triple Play (News - Alert) services: data, voice and video transmission via a single network. Dark fibers deliver benefits like scalability, economics, control and flexibility and over 400Gig of lit transport capacity can be carried over single dark fiber pair. With Macomnet offerings, IXcellerate should be able to realize huge capacity with dedicated infrastructure to improve reliability and performance.


IXcellerate claimed that its unparalleled carrier neutral data center in Moscow is comparable to the quality of data centers in America and Western Europe. IXcellerate offers pure-play co-location designed to meet the standards of financial institutions, MNCs, international carriers and major content operators. As a carrier-neutral facility, affordable and resilient connectivity will be available within Moscow, Russia and around the globe.

IXcellerate stated that its data center project encompassed the construction and operation of a 6,200 square meter, carrier neutral data center in Moscow set on a 15,000 square meter campus and the company’s objective was select the best of breed to ensure its data center meets the requirements of its national and international customers.

The company added that all of its clients receive: remote hands; IT support services; around the clock security personal on-site; unlimited cross connections with meet-me-room operators on a “pay-as-you-go” basis; and more.

IXcellerate’s Moscow 1 Data Center, Phase I, is scheduled to be opened in Q4 2012 and it is built using services from Arup and Mercury Engineering.
