Louisville, Colo-based Zayo, a national provider of fiber-based bandwidth infrastructure and network-neutral colocation and interconnection services, has announced that it has upgraded its fiber route from Spokane to Portland.

Zayo's network assets include over 61,000 route miles, covering 45 states plus Washington, D.C. as well as London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Toronto and Tokyo. The company has approximately 9,000 buildings and 2,400 cell towers on-net, and over 136,000 square feet of billable colocation space.

The enhancement is said to enhance 400G of capacity to the route and further enhance its ability to service major carriers, industries and businesses in the region.

In addition, some new equipment deployment and replacement of existing gear has taken place in the Spokane to Portland route and this ensures diverse connectivity to 2001 6th Ave, a zColo facility and major data center in Seattle, to Spokane, Washington and Portland, Oregon.

"The Spokane to Portland route serves as a differentiator for Zayo's wavelength service," states Zach Nebergall of Zayo's Wavelength Product Group. "It provides diversity from other Spokane to Seattle routes, and gives Zayo the ability to serve more customers in the Spokane, Portland and Seattle metro markets."

The company recently extended its offer to exchange all of its outstanding privately placed 8.125 percent senior secured first-priority notes due 2020 – and the $499.4 million aggregate principal amount of the firm’s private 10.125 percent senior unsecured notes due 2020 – until 5:00 p.m. EDT on August 29, 2012.

The holders of $744.8 million in aggregate principal of the outstanding Secured Notes, and holders of 100 percent of the aggregate principal amount of the outstanding Unsecured Notes, were required to deliver valid notices of guaranteed delivery of the offer, by the 24th of this month.
