NTS (News - Alert), Inc. recently announced the successful connection of its first fiber customer in Plainview, Texas.

This move marks an important step in the company’s ongoing plans for expansion of its fiber-to-the-premise Network (FTTP).

The company provides high-speed broadband services, internet access, digital cable TV programming and local and long distance telephone services across northern Texas and south eastern Louisiana.

“We are very excited to have begun adding customers in our newest market, Plainview, Texas as we continue the rollout of our fiber network to new communities,” said Guy Nissenson, Chairman, president and CEO at NTS. “We continue to see strong adoption rates as we bring our high-speed triple play offering to new markets, as customers recognize the value and convenience of our high- speed bandwidth. Consumers are increasingly reliant on the internet; both in residential and business applications, and the speed and accessibility of our network meets their expectations.”

“We look forward to bringing advanced broadband to more customers in Plainview and further communities in the near future.”

NTS’ ongoing fiber build-out, when completed, is expected to reach 19 new communities bringing the Company’s total FTTP passings to around 50,000. Fundings for the Plainview, Texas expansion came from a portion of a federal stimulus package of approximately $100 million.

The Fiber-To-The-Premise (FTTP) network has been developed to deliver one of the fastest internet connections currently available in the industry.

NTS' fiber network currently connects communities in the towns of Lubbock, Levelland, Smyer, Wolfforth and Littlefield, in addition to Burkburnett, Brownfield, Whitharral, Slaton, Meadow, Wilson, Lamesa and Ropesville, Texas. The company has also begun the construction of its fiber network for communities in Iowa Park, Texas and Hammond, Louisiana.

NTS is working on a metro build focusing on specific areas in Wichita Falls, Texas.
