TE Data JORDAN, a telecom service provider and fully-owned subsidiary of TE Data EGYPT S.A.E. has deployed a major regional IP node in Jordan for delivering a full range of ISP services in the region.
The company will deliver Internet data and telephony services for which it will leverage the capabilities of PortaOne’s (News - Alert) PortaSwitch.
The Middle Eastern countries are going through a major change with respect to business conditions. International customer base, rising competition and a dynamic regulatory environment are characteristics commonly witnessed here.
Markets are being liberalized as well, and there are a series of widespread social and economic changes expected to create major challenges and opportunities for telecommunication service providers.
The PortaSwitch software platform can have complete call control and achieve routing, proxying and converged billing for a diversified digital services company. It can provide a real-time billing system class 4/5 SIP softswitch and deliver media applications.
Officials added that PortaSwitch can provide carrier-grade billing and provisioning services, SIP call control, unified messaging, IP Centrex and hosted IP PBX (News - Alert) and callback management besides IVR and conferencing.
“As PortaSwitch is so comprehensive, we use it as a converged system for both our Internet data services and our various retail voice offerings,” said Moataz Abo Elenien, general manager of TE Data JORDAN.
“Our customers are able to make international calls to any country in the world through our diverse SIP or Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) and PPCC or Pre-Paid Calling Card services. And they can maintain their own accounts through PortaSwitch’s provisioning and billing features,” Abo Elenien added.
With the growth of TE Data JORDAN, the resulting large and expanding call volume has been optimally supported by PortaSwitch. Also, the infrastructure can be upgraded when there is an increase in demand. This feature is expected to come in use when the company actually expands into neighboring countries delivering professional services.
In early 2011, DIDWW, a supplier of IP-based communications services, announced the successful completion of interoperability testing with PortaOne between PortaOne’s PortaSwitch VoIP billing/subscriber management platform and DIDWW’s global Direct Inward Dialing (DID) access solutions.
