Hibernia Atlantic (News - Alert), a privately-held Trans-Atlantic submarine cable network operator that provides "Security through Diversity" to European and U.S. customers, has announced that it will be providing Trans-Atlantic and European capacity backbone from Europe to the U.S., to Voxility.

Hibernia Atlantic connects Europe, North America and Asia through submarines, and its terrestrial network connects United States, Canada and Europe.

Voxility is a hosting infrastructure provider that offers a global infrastructure with the capacity of over 500 Gbps of Internet connectivity. The firm operates a global ultra-fast network and its interconnected data centers are located in Bucharest, Frankfurt, Los Angeles and Washington.

Hibernia Atlantic would also be providing secure colocation services to Voxility in London, U.K. The services will link Voxility’s data centers in Europe with the ones in United States.

Silviu Sirbu, managing director for Voxility, commented that Voxility’s customers expect to receive a better transfer speed than the traditional IP transit providers when moving their content from one side of the Atlantic to another. By deploying Hibernia’s high-capacity, fast routes as an extension of their network, they were able to stay ahead of the rapid pace of demand and continue with their aggressive expansion.

Sirbu also said that they planned to utilize Hibernia’s resilient network to reach new regions such as Asia in the near future.
