Plusnet, the broadband and home phone provider, has launched a new TV campaign for its latest fiber offering. The new superfast fiber optic broadband is all set to be a game changer and is eight time faster than copper broad band (speeds based on UK average standard ADSL broadband download speed (Ofcom Speed Report Aug 2012) vs. Plusnet Extra Fiber average).
Headquartered in Yorkshire, Plusnet was created with a vision to think and act differently from other providers and provide futuristic but cost effective service to customers. More than a decade later Plusnet is a leader, providing great value broadband and phone services.
The new advertisement portrays fast and affordable fiber broadband product with humorous characters and fast cars. The advertisement is a cross between two blockbuster movies ‘Talladega Nights’ and ‘Cannonball Run’. It has several characters from the said movies like an ice-cream seller, learner driver, the main character Joe and his dad who drive vehicles at high-speed. The advertisement aims at highlighting the benefits of having a superfast fiber optic broadband. The fact that people can get faster speeds with new Plusnet Fiber, without paying the earth for it, is strategically conveyed. The new advertisement will appear first on ITV during the popular show ‘X Factor’ and run up until 23rd November.
Nick Rawlings, the commercial and marketing director at Plusnet explained that this was the first time that they have promoted their fiber product above the line and were excited to be introducing an up to 76 Mb/s broadband products at this market leading price. Rawlings added that Plusnet really wants people to get superfast at a super price.
Sam Walker, the creative director at advertising agency, Karmarama, said that they wanted to create an action-packed advertisement in keeping with Plusnet's light-hearted personality.
Plusnet has also made changes in its fiber broadband products. It has introduced the new Plusnet Extra Fiber offering 250 GB usage allowance with speed up to 76Mbps. The upload speed has been increased up to 19.5 Mbps.
Before launching the advertisement, Plusnet has had a few successful customer trials. 57 percent of the participants in the trials confirmed that the new, improved and faster fiber product made Internet more integral to their life and lifestyle. The newly launched product more than doubles the usage allowance of Plusnet; from 120 GB to 250 GB. The speed has increased but the costs have reduced. Additional changes include increased upload speeds; up to 9.5 Mbps. Between midnight and 8 am everyday Plusnet offers unlimited downloads which do not add to the customer’s monthly usage allowance.
Existing customers can upgrade to the latest offerings of usage and speed and can take advantage of lowered costs.
