XO Communications (XOCM) is now powering up Equinix’s International Business Exchange data centers across America, resulting in the first ever 100Gbps network from coast to coast. The world of networking is rapidly evolving, and this latest update from these two momentous enterprises is surely going to take it further ahead.

Brian Lillie, chief executive officer of Equinix (News - Alert), said that XO Communications is coming forward with innovative solutions for customers who are looking forward to a higher bandwidth, adding that XO was providing them with all the essential equipment and assistance to help design, test and launch the first ever 100G service. He felt that this new move will only ensure best performing connectivity and security for users. Lillie added that Equinix is determined to make XO find it easier to enhance their performance and take the services to more customers to essentially open up new markets. He claimed that this is a huge step towards to the future of networking.

This new 100G broadband service from XO Communications (News - Alert) will enhance the speed of connectivity nationwide. There will also be an unlimited number of facilities for customers, as the cloud service providers will be able to provide their users with a superior quality access. The introduction of this new network will facilitate smooth content sharing at higher speeds – a dream come true for every user. The Carrier Business Ethernet services can be easily accessed all over the U.S. with this 100G broadband connectivity, and the joint venture will make it simpler and more satisfactory for broadband users to access the Internet.

Randy Nicklas, chief technical officer and senior vice-president of XO Communications, said that the cloud computing, online video downloading and mobile networking connectivity of this age have become very rich. He also said that XO Communications is working towards its goal to improve the network infrastructure of the country to ensure that customers enjoy using a network connectivity that is suitable to their unique needs. Randy also added that they were exited and honored to taking their relationship with Equinix to the next step, and working together to make possible the dream of a 100G network, noting that providing high bandwidth solutions will become easier by taking such a step.

The XO Communications is working by powering up the Equinix’s Solution Validation Center to improve their high performing network platform to make it safer and wide reaching for customers. Ciena and Nokia (News - Alert) Siemens, two partners of XO Communications, are also helping them in this project. New technology is being used for validating applications and adapting required technology for enhanced performance.

The Equinix data center campus in Virginia has experienced the launch of the 100G network on October 4. What XO Communications and its partners have done is ultimately opened a new door to the future, of course, with the technological help of Equinix. This launch will take high speed networking to new, unprecedented levels.
