ARRIS, a global communications technology company specializing in the design, engineering and supply of communications and IP technologies, has added a new product to its cable edge portfolio, the E6000 Converged Edge Router (E6000 CER).
The company officials said that the new E6000 CER comes in a redundant design promising no single point of failure, hitless fail-over, and hot-swapping of cards, and field-deployment ready IPv6. On the whole it is high performing solution with high scalability.
The new E6000 CER E6000 is available in N+1 or 1+1 and is built to offer 99.999 percent system availability with self-healing architecture that maintains system services without interruption.
This solution helps the operators easily increase the revenue using a single chassis with the highest density per rack unit in order to deliver more services at faster speeds. It also helps in enhancing the subscriber satisfaction and retention with a self-healing design that decreases outages.
“We've been working with the major cable operators and CableLabs (News - Alert) for over three years on the CCAP specifications and vision, and believe that now is the time to introduce the increased capabilities of the E6000," said Bruce McClelland, ARRIS president, Products & Services. "We have taken our CMTS and video processing experience and extended its hallmarks of reliability and availability into higher density applications which meet our customers' near term broadband distribution needs."
This new product comes in a simple, robust and integrated architecture to deliver new levels of density and cost-effectiveness. In addition, operators can mix and match ARRIS cable edge products to generate the optimum network configuration for deployment.
