Two new CATV control components were recently launched by F Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:RFMD (News - Alert)), in conjunction with SCTE Cable – TEC Expo, in Orlando, FL.
RF Micro Devices, Inc. is a global leader in the manufacturing and design of compound semiconductor technologies and high-performance radio frequency components.
RFMD's products enable worldwide mobility, support advanced functionality and provide enhanced connectivity in the cable television (CATV)/broadband, wireless infrastructure, wireless local area network (WLAN or Wi-Fi), mobile device, smart energy/advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), and defense/aerospace markets.
Newly launched components include the RFASA2654, a broadband digital step attenuator of 75-ohm, and the RFSW1012, a high-power double-throw switch (SPDT) handles single-pole. These state-of-the-art new devices are best for CATV infrastructure, cable modems and other data network equipment.
RFMD’s RFSA2654 has a high linearity, operating over the frequency range of a 5MHz to 2000 MHz. It is a serial-controlled 6-bit digital step attenuator, and delivers ultra-fast switching speeds.
In many CATV applications, slow switching speed is a major problem.
The RFSW1012 combines high isolation, low insertion loss and high linearity. It is a 3-volt SOI, silicon on insulator switch that operates over a 5MHz to 6000MHz range. RFSW1012 delivers CTB/CSO > 100 dBc measured at +41 dBmV/channel for 137 channels, 0.3 0.3 dB insertion loss and 48 dB isolation.
RFMD’s new SPDT is housed in a small 2mm x 2mm 12-pin QFN package. It also features a robust 2kV human body model with (class 2) ESD rating on all ports.
The gain of high-linearity amplifier lineups with 0.5dB step resolution over a 31.5dB range can be adjusted by cable industry designers using RFMD’s new digital attenuator.
RF Micro Devices (News - Alert), Inc. is headquartered in Greensboro, New York City and is an ISO 9001-, ISO 14001- and ISO/TS 16949-certified manufacturer. They showcased these new control components at the recently concluded SCTE Cable-TEC Expo in Orlando.
