Integra Telecom (News - Alert) Inc., one of the largest facilities-based providers of communication and networking services in the western U.S., has doubled the bandwidth capacity on its Ethernet over Copper (EoC) service. The capacity has been increased from 30MBps to 60MBps to provide scalable bandwidth to its customers to help them manage their network traffic efficiently.

Increased capacity will support Internet, SIP trunking, hosted VoIP and IP/MPLS VPNs. The businesses will now be able to prioritize and easily manage complex network traffic even at peak traffic loads while ensuring Class and Quality of Service.

Integra owns and manages an enterprise-class 5,000-mile long-haul fiber-optic network, and 3,000 miles of metropolitan fiber and a nationwide IP/MPLS network.

More than 2,200 enterprise buildings and data centers are connected directly through its fiber network.

Integra expanded its EoC network to reach more than 400,000 businesses earlier this year.

With doubled bandwidth capacity, the EoC service will now offer symmetrical access to customers throughout 11-state network footprint of Integra. Customers located beyond the reach of carrier’s metro fiber network can now be served by CLEC.

Integra’s EoC is integrated with its fiber network, unlike its competitors. The company’s EoC services, which originate from fiber-fed Local Service Offices (LSO), are linked to the company’s fiber backbone. This provides another option at addressable locations, as well as between facilities for bandwidth through company’s long haul fiber network footprint.

Integra has also launched a new interactive network map to enable its customers and prospects to view Integra's product availability as well as fiber and EoC assets.

The map provides the ability to zoom in and select a region or metro area, or enter a specific address order to determine if it is feasible for Integra to service the selected area through its network.
