ACMA is an organization that operates one of the largest dedicated marine fleets in the world, and is responsible for the maintenance and repair of over 60 of the largest sub-sea telecoms, power, oil and gas organizations.

To help it in this mammoth task, it selected Sea Fiber Networks (SFN), owner and operator of Europe's most advanced sub-sea telecoms network, CeltixConnect, according to officials.

“As one of the newest entrants to the sub-sea community, ACMA was delighted with the selection of Sea Fiber Networks to preside over this innovative development," noted Alasdair Wilkie, chairman, ACMA.

Selected from among its 60+ specialized sub-sea operators, SFN will oversee the newly developed and upgraded ACMA website, and is expected to lead the development and new direction of this “vital resource.”

The ACMA website is a very important tool for member companies that depend on it to get real-time access to vessel location information and maintenance agreements.

SFN had become an ACMA member early in 2012 as part of its proactive cable operations and maintenance program for CeltixConnect, regarded as the most modern cable system connecting Ireland to the U.K.

Undersea cable faults can be expensive and faults have to be located swiftly and repaired. With its experience, expertise and state-of-the-art vehicles, ACMA together with SFN will apparently ensure that organizations don’t suffer because of downtime and high restoration cost.

“ACMA''s continued success at the forefront of the sub-sea cable maintenance and repair industry is linked to its ability to deliver a modern communications service to its members and Sea Fiber Networks are delighted to be leading this project," observed Diane Hodnett, CEO at SFN.

Sea Fiber Networks, Europe's most advanced sub-sea telecoms network, announced its newest product – Bright Fiber via CeltixConnect – in which Fiber lets service providers and enterprises own a dark fiber sub-sea backbone infrastructure and optical equipment, managed by Sea Fiber Networks, allowing customers to reduce their risk and costs by avoiding any interface issues during an outage.
