B&H Photo announced the selection of FiberMedia Group, LLC as the center for its primary compute infrastructure used in the management of the company’s online and store-front operations. Being a reputable New York based photo, video, pro audio and digital imaging solutions provider, B&H Photo’s choice to settle on FiberMedia Group is just an indicator of how good the latter can be.
On the other hand, the choice symbolizes the company’s transition from simply managing in-house solutions to outsourcing a good deal of its data center and collocation requirements. Under this agreement, FiberMedia Group will avail a custom-made private-caged cooling environment. In addition to this, the center will also feature 2N redundant environmental and mechanical installation with basic power and cooling functionalities.
By outsourcing its data center, B&H gains improved flexibility opening up channels for faster business growth. This, coupled with FiberMedia’s flexible and secure solution with an affordable price tag (News - Alert), leaves B&H to focus on real business without having to worry about how important data gets stored away.
Since the appointment of FiberMedia, things have moved very fast. A proud John Panzica, the SVP sales and marketing at FiberMedia, pointed out that B&H has already moved its primary data center infrastructure to one of FiberMedia’s data centers. FiberMedia understands the expectations of B&H, since it is their first time outsourcing its data centers.
Before its contract with B&H, FiberMedia, a provider of private data centers, has provided intelligent data center solutions to enterprise customers. Through its versatile and secure physical infrastructure, the company delivers flexible and pocket-friendly cloud-based solutions to its customers regardless of their operational size.
With the bulk of shoppers resorting to the easy comfort of online shopping, the task of managing transactions and keeping customer-related data is definitely going to grow exponentially in the near future. B&H Photo, however, has nothing to fear since this is no longer part of its business.
