InfoVista, a provider of service performance assurance software solutions transported by all-IP networks for network and application services, has announced the acquisition of Mentum, a RAN and backhaul network planning and optimization solutions provider.
InfoVista’s current strategy is to strengthen and deliver its solution set across customer experience domains and network lifecycles. Subscribing operators will thus reap the benefits and will be able to operate, monetize and optimize their networks with better tools and planning.
"I am excited about the vast expertise of the mobile market that the talented Mentum (News - Alert) employees, customers and partners will bring to InfoVista," said Philippe Ozanian, chief executive officer of InfoVista.
"This acquisition brings together extensive radio and IP expertise, uniquely positioning InfoVista as a solution provider that can tackle the increasing complexity of next-generation mobile networks," added Ozanian.
"InfoVista’s acquisition of Mentum is a natural evolution that aligns with the need for mobile operators to strike a balance between customer experience and capital efficiency triggered by the data explosion," said Philippe Catherine, the chief executive officer of Mentum.
InfoVista was acquired by Thoma Bravo in March 2012. Mentum is the first acquisition of InfoVista since its acquisition. The acquisition adds to InfoVista’s capability of offering a reliable solution to self-organizing networks, SON. The acquisition brings over 250 mobile operator customers together, a combined user community of thousands of experts who are spread in more than 120 countries.
Mentum comes with the DNA of constant innovation. For the last 20 years it has been breaking new grounds and has a commanding presence in the markets with impressive presence. It has more than 100 LTE (News - Alert) customers in its portfolio. Post-acquisition InfoVista would be leveraging Mentum’s capabilities, expertise, assets and technology and will integrate it into its existing portfolio of solutions.
Mobile operators will be benefitting tremendously with the synergy. They would now be able to deploy a reliable path to SON and deliver dimensioning that is CAPEX-aware. The operators will benefit from the reorganized structure, having a single partner for all technologies across all functions. They can now enable IT transformation and monetize their assets in an efficient way.
