Fibertech Networks to Build Five New Markets

Fibertech Networks has announced that the company will build new metropolitan fiber networks in Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dayton and Toledo, OH. According to the company, it will also enhance its current Columbus network.

Fibertech has created various routes, "open access" networks in important metropolitan areas. This is an important differentiator from typical infrastructure investments.

In 23 markets across the Northeast, the company completely owns and maintains more than 8,200 route miles of network.

The company has stated that it does not believe in offering solutions that utilize “other” capacity, which is not completely owned and administered by the company. Among other things, this provides the company improved control and ability to grow its networks as required on an affordable basis.

Until today, the company has created and also owns in excess of 8,400 route miles of metro networks in 23 markets. It also provides its connectivity solutions on that infrastructure end-to-end.

This differentiator provides Fibertech and its users unprecedented control, scalability and security in their services.

“This is a major expansion for Fibertech and a critical step in our development as one of the largest and fastest growing metro fiber providers in the Eastern U.S.,” said John K. Purcell, Chairman and CEO at Fibertech. “We already have major anchor tenant agreements in place in each of these markets, accelerating our position as a leading alternative access provider in Ohio.”

Recently, the company completed its diverse fiber optic connection into DuPont Fabros Technology's New Jersey data center located in Piscataway, New Jersey. To provide its customers high-speed connectivity and low latency solutions, this complements Fibertech's strategic direction of bringing fiber directly into NJ1.

DuPont Fabros Technology, Inc. is a real estate investment trust (REIT) and owner, developer, operator and manager of wholesale data centers.
