Sumitomo Electric (News - Alert) Lightwaves (SEL) is revolutionizing the Mass Splicer market with the latest introduction of its Quantum Type-Q101-M12 Dual-Heater Mass Fusion Splicer.
The Quantum (News - Alert) Mass fusion splicer is the industry’s fastest, most compact mass splicer available. The Quantum Mass Fusion Splicer, the second splicer launched in the Quantum Splicer product line, can operate up to a 12 fiber splice in less than 70 seconds.
The normal splice time will take about 14 seconds, coupled with a 55-second heater cycle time, making it the fastest mass splicer in the industry.
SEL also integrated an automatic clamp force adjustment to make this machine more efficient. The Quantum Mass Fusion Splicer also contains a real-time clamp force calibration to minimize movement or fiber-to-fiber offsets with loose tube fibers, or when splicing on MPO connectors on round cord loose tube cables.
The Quantum Mass is the smallest mass splicer, standing nearly five inches tall, 4.96 inches and just 4.72 inches wide. It boasts the only fully navigational touchscreen along with an SD port, for even more data storage.
It has the ability upload or download any splicing related data as well.
SEL did away with the old traditional touch pads by adding the touchscreen, making functions faster and easier.
Another major component to the Quantum Mass Splicer is the dual independent heater system, which will increase splicing efficiency by up to 70 percent.
It might be the smallest Mass Splicer available, but the Quantum Mass is also one of the most durable, with water-proof, dust and shock resistance for every environment.
The Quantum Mass Fiber Splicer falls in line with SEL’s mission to make their equipment more efficient and put the customer first.
“By continuing to listen to the customer, we have launched the most advanced, reliable, and user-friendly mass fusion splicer in the industry,” said Joshua Seawell, director of the Lightwave Network Products division at Sumitomo Electric Lightwave. “We are grateful to our customers for their valuable input, which is the foundation of our continued leadership in providing the best and most advanced fusion splicing technology.”
