Zayo Group (News - Alert), an international provider of fiber-based bandwidth infrastructure services and carrier-neutral colocation and interconnection services, has announced that it is delivering its fiber-based services to all CoreSite (News - Alert) data centers in nine markets throughout North America.

The new availability of Zayo services on CoreSites data center helps companies incorporate the network-centric computing platform of CoreSite with the bandwidth infrastructure services from Zayo.

Brian Warren, VP of Product Management at CoreSite, said that by bringing together best-of-breed providers, they can provide their customers with a scalable, resilient solution.

In addition, customers can now colocate their network-centric applications at all of CoreSite's world-class facilities and have direct access to Zayo's extensive network. CoreSite's 2,000,000+ sq. ft. on-demand data center space and connectivity on Zayo's 67,000-route mile fiber network are both available through a coordinated team.

"The Zayo and CoreSite partnership expands connectivity for current and future customers from both companies," states John Real, SVP of Sales for Zayo. "We're proud to offer fiber-based services to all CoreSite data centers."

Zayo serves wireline and wireless carriers, data centers, Internet content and services companies, high-bandwidth enterprises, and federal, state and local government agencies. The firm provides these services over metro, metro, national, international and fiber-to-the-tower networks. Its colocation assets include 136,000 billable square feet of interconnect-focused colocation space.

The company was recently in news for acquiring Litecast/Balticore LLC, a provider of metro bandwidth infrastructure services in Baltimore, Maryland, for a price of $22 million. Zayo plans to strengthen its fiber network in the greater Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. The agreement will allow Zayo to provide bandwidth infrastructure products to Litecast customers across its regional, national and international fiber networks as well.
