Airgain, which will be showcasing its innovative antenna systems and integration support at the upcoming 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES (News - Alert)) in Las Vegas January 8-11, steps into the New Year with a great degree of confidence.
And perhaps with good reason, as 2012 has been a phenomenal year during which Airgain achieved record growth in shipments and revenue. Figures indicate that sales of embedded antenna products increased consistently over the last three years with an annualized growth of more than 70 percent.
This sustained momentum has been attributed to the company’s commitment to producing high-performance solutions, which translated into increased demand for its embedded antenna products. As a result, not only are its antennas ubiquitous, but the company’s position in the in-home wireless LAN antenna market is also top notch.
"With our unique engineering integration and services approach, Airgain has solidified its position as the leading provider of embedded antennas for the in-home WLAN market," said Charles Myers, president and CEO at Airgain.
The company has gained a significant level of expertise in the testing and evaluation of wireless systems, has developed a proprietary set of performance metrics, measurement methodologies, and test conditions to enable measuring and predicting of WLAN devices at the component and application level.
Further, the company has also introduced several innovative new designs for adjacent wireless connectivity markets, increased its customer base and continues to expand its product offerings to industry-leading tier1 customers.
“The growth in the demand for wireless connectivity continues to create a tremendous demand for our RF expertise to characterize, integrate, and validate wireless system performance of next-generation devices,” noted Myers.
Having shipped over 40 million antennas in 2012 alone, officials at Airgain are looking forward to making 2013 even more memorable with increased market share and exciting new possibilities in residential wireless services, whole-home wireless data and video coverage.
Airgain's antenna systems will be part of Belkin's AC1000DB and AC1200DB Wi-Fi Dual-Band AC+ Gigabit Routers, which are set to release this summer. The antennas are part of a development program that's been ongoing since 2004, which in turn gives them a whole series of proprietary methods and measurement tools that make Airgain antennas impressive pieces of hardware, and impart better overall wireless performance for those devices that use the antennas.
