Airgain Reports Outstanding 2012 Performance

Airgain, a provider of high-performance smart and embedded antenna products, reported strong business and revenue growth for 2012.  


According to the company, sales of the companies embedded antenna products have increased over 80 percent year over year. Over 40 million antennas have reportedly been shipped in 2012, cementing its position in the in-home WLAN antenna market. 

Airgain’s high performance antennas are used in a variety of wireless set-top box, residential gateway, and home router products. Airgain, antennas have been deployed in residential wireless networks worldwide, ranging from advanced wireless receivers for IPTV (News - Alert) video distribution to the industry's first 802.11ac Wi-Fi dual-band gigabit routers, according to the company.

The company also introduced several innovative new designs for adjacent wireless connectivity markets, including enterprise class routers, cellular/LTE (News - Alert) femtocells, and smart metering and M2M devices.

Airgain has been designing and evaluating wireless antenna solutions for 802.11-based WLAN devices since 2004. Leveraging Airgain's embedded antenna technology the 802.11ac devices allow consumers to enjoy online streaming experience for videos, movies, and music throughout the home.

This was a phenomenal year for the company in both product sales and customer penetration. We look forward to sustained growth and increased market share in 2013 and beyond as Airgain successfully continues to expand its product offerings to industry-leading tier one customers,” president and CEO of Airgain, Charles Myers, commented in a statement.

Airgain is expected to cut a prominent presence in 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES (News - Alert)) in Las Vegas, held January 8 through 11th. At the event, the company will be showcasing their innovative antenna systems that have the potential to take home entertainment to all new, exciting height.

In July last year, Airgain announced that its antenna systems will be part of Belkin's AC1000DB and AC1200DB Wi-Fi Dual-Band AC+ Gigabit Routers, which were released in last summer. Previous Belkin models had also incorporated Airgain antennas including the N150, N300, N600 and N900 series routers.
