EBlink, a well-known provider of alternative solutions for mobile communications base station sites, recently announced that it has installed its wireless fronthaul solution in the network of Orange (News - Alert) Niger to facilitate Orange’s network expansion program in Niger.

EBlink’s wireless fronthaul system enabled Orange Niger to avoid expensive and time-consuming civil works. With the wireless fronthaul system from EBlink, Orange Niger can seamlessly develop a connection between the base station and network antenna via a wireless link.

This high-performance modular system, which helps the mobile network operators (MNO) to effectively control capital and operating costs, can be deployed in single sector or multi sector configurations.

Discussing this new venture with Orange Niger, the chief executive officer at EBlink, Alain Rolland, said the new project implementation with Orange showed once again how EBlink’s wireless fronthaul solution can be designed and adapted to virtually any physical or environmental situation, while significantly cutting its operational costs and reducing installation time.

Orange Niger’s CTIO, Claude Arrigoni, also stated that the company is pleased with the deployment and effective performance of the wireless frontal solution. Not only will it enable Orange to achieve network expansion rapidly and run faster than conventional coaxial cable systems, but it will also prevent feeder degradation and loss in hot and humid climates.

EBlink’s wireless fronthaul system allows the mobile network operators to essentially leverage the core advantages of fronthaul that allows seamless wireless connectivity of the base station’s main unit with remote radio heads.

This system works very much unlike backhaul, which only connects the base station with the core networking system.
