Aviat (News - Alert) Networks, a provider of microwave solutions, has increased its guidance for the second quarter of fiscal 2013.
The company, which trades on NASDAQ, has increased its projected revenue from between $115 million to $120 million – up to the range between $123 million and $126 million.
As Aviat’s orders are greater than its revenue, increasing its guidance was a logical move, according to the firm.
The closing cash balance is expected to be around $95 million.
The company’s non-GAAP gross margins and operating expenses are expected to remain the same from its previous guidance.
Aviat will release its full financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2013 on January 30. The company will also hold a conference call with shareholders. A replay will be available afterward, and the conference call recording will be available on Aviat’s website for 90 days after it is completed.
Both Aviat president and CEO Michael Panglia, and senior vice president and CFO Ned Hayes, presented at the 15th annual Needham And Company Growth Conference in New York City on January 15.
The company last released its earnings report in November, posting a loss of $6.8 million, or $0.12 per share.
Nevertheless, Panglia was upbeat about the company’s outlook.
“We are very pleased with our first quarter results and now are beginning to get traction with our new products and the resulting total cost of ownership benefits to our customers," said Pangia said. "I am increasingly confident that we are on the right track to profitably expand our business and create shareholder value."
The company’s products include the WTM 3000 outdoor networked radio, which offers radio, modem and Ethernet functions in a compact package. It’s intended for network operators looking to expand their 4G coverage in addition to adding the backhaul required for data-hungry mobile devices.
