The new FTB-610 Wideband Copper Test Module and FTB-635 Wideband Copper and DSL Test Module, from test and service assurance solutions provider, EXFO (News - Alert), are packed with the necessary features to remove the complications involved in testing and troubleshooting triple-play and broadband ADSL2+/VDSL2 services.
The FTB-610 Wideband Copper Tester housed in the handheld FTB-1 modular platform simplifies copper circuit testing through the automatic analysis and location of broadband cable faults in a large touchscreen graphical interface.
Combining the optical options of the FTB-1 with an advanced copper test module, the FTB-610 supposedly offers typical cable test tools for basic troubleshooting, such as a multimeter, balance, VF noise meter, locator and POTS dialer, TDR and RFL, as well as long-range fault finding and advanced signal and noise analysis.
The FTB-635 Wideband Copper and DSL Tester is purported to be the perfect tool for any service provider deploying multiplay services over FTTN and hybrid networks. Leveraging SmartR technology, FTB-635 lets technicians work smarter, not harder. The FTB-635 adds the latest ADSL2+/VDSL2 test capabilities, including full vectoring and bonding support.
It’s capable of troubleshooting IPTV (News - Alert) and video from either the DSL or Ethernet interfaces.
Étienne Gagnon, vice president of EXFO’s test and measurement division commented, “With their comprehensive set of fast and intuitive test capabilities, the new FTB-610 and FTB-635 minimize training requirements, increase first-time-right results, and reduce repeats, making them the ultimate time and budget saver for FTTN/FTTx troubleshooting. The powerful, yet compact FTB-1 test platform exemplifies our commitment to helping operators reduce costs and increase operational efficiency at all stages of the network lifecycle.”
In related news, EXPO launched EXFO Apps, a gateway to productivity-enhancing test applications and received the ‘2012 Portable Fiber-Optic Test Equipment Market Share Leadership’ award from Frost & Sullivan.
