The Fiber Optics Products Management company Clearfield (News - Alert) has announced that the company has introduced the FieldSmart Fiber Scalability Center (FSC) Below-Grade OSP Cabinet. According to the company, this OSP cabinet offers below grade deployment, which means deployment will be conducted within an underground vault.
Below-Grade OSP Cabinets from Clearfield are known for the protection they provide against twisting/pistoning of the breakout. They also allow for rapid visual problem solving with the help of opening cassettes.
The FSC Below-Grade Cabinet is ideal in environments above grade placement of cabinets that is not possible or not allowed. The FSC Below-Grade Cabinet not only meets the needs of the users, but it also helps users in setting fiber management rules and regulations.
The FSC Below-Grade Cabinet provides lengthy protection against water for up to 72 hours. This means the cabinet will be safe even if it is submerged in water either because of natural disasters, such as floods or tsunamis. It also allows the cable operator to easily differentiate between passive infrastructure and the standard hub architecture.
According to the company, if the cabinet is installed in a Clearfield specified below-grade vault, the FieldSmart Fiber Scalability Center (FSC) Below Grade Cabinet makes sure that the users get below grade connectivity. Numerous deployment strategies can be used with the help of this cabinet.
“Easement regulations and costs can be a significant barrier to fiber deployment," explains Cheri Beranek, president and CEO of Clearfield. "In environments where obtaining the easement to set an OSP cabinet cannot be gained or can be gained only after significant cost, the FieldSmart Below-Grade OSP Cabinet provides a streamlined alternative.”
Recently, the company reported fiscal 2013, where it stated that it set a new record for 1 quarter sales revenues.
