Crestron to Offer New Digital Media Switcher

Crestron recently introduced its new 64X64 DM commercial switcher that distributes and manages 64 AV sources of any signal type over any distance (long or short) via CAT5e or fiber. It features a hot-swap modular blade I/O expansion system that enables the user to easily modify, configure, and upgrade a DM system in the field. Users can also select from a number of input and output blades including HDMI, DM 8G+ HDBaseT, DM 8G Fiber and DM 8G Single-Mode Fiber. Each blade provides eight inputs /outputs of any one type and seamlessly integrates copper and fiber outputs on the same platform.

The built-in 15 inch color touch screen allows for the complete setup and operation of the product with the click of a button. Users will surely enjoy the user-friendly graphic interface, the direct routing, format information and view resolution of every AV input/output signal, and the singl file update function that updates all firmware of all connected devices.

Additionally, the touch screen acts as a single point of control of diagnostic capabilities i.e., individually monitoring of I/O blades, troubleshooting signal paths, fan tray and power supply, loading of EDID settings and entire system configuration, and transmitter and receiver settings and backup.

64X64 DM runs on redundant power which offers MTBF (mean time between failures) of over a half million hours. There is also a built-in Web server and increased capacity, making this product very appeasing to DM engineers and technicians.

“DM is a full and ever-expanding product line that is constantly evolving to meet the demanding requirements of the world’s top organisations and facilities,” said Robin van Meeuwen, VP of Sales and Marketing at Crestron International. “The new 64X64 system is just the next step in that evolution.”
