ADTRAN (News - Alert) is now offering its Total Access 5000 broadband platform to Glandorf Telephone Company, which provides telecommunications services to business and residential customers in Northwest Ohio.

Thanks to the ADTRAN platform, the telco is now able to deliver ultra broadband and video service to its customers in rural Northwest Ohio. The company is utilizing the flexibility of Total Access 5000 to deliver both Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and ultra broadband services to both residential and business customers.

The offering is touted as helping services providers deliver broadband over both copper and fiber architectures. They can also add capacity and scalability to meet the growing demand for Internet and HD video services. Further, the broadband platform provides virtually unlimited network bandwidth with an ultra-low cost of ownership, allowing Glandorf to expand its addressable market and reach residents who may not have had easy access to these types of services previously.

“Our previous solution limited our ability to offer our customers the services they were looking for. We knew we needed to find a solution that would increase speed and serve more subscribers,” said Jason Kleman, IT manager with Glandorf Telephone Company, in a statement.

“Since implementing ADTRAN’s broadband platform, we are able to provide more reliable and efficient service to our customers, increasing customer satisfaction,” Kleman added.

Another advantage of ADTRAN’s broadband platform is that it provides virtually unlimited network bandwidth with an ultra-low cost of ownership. It also allows Glandorf to power premium services by capitalizing on its extensive existing copper network to double the bandwidth service speed over bonded copper for rural residents who cannot be serviced by a fiber network.

“ADTRAN’s products provide the flexibility and simplicity that service providers, like Glandorf Telephone, need to not only grow their network bandwidth over time, but also diversify their service offering to meet both residential and business customers’ demand,” commented Mitch Fleming, regional vice president, Sales, ADTRAN Carrier Networks Division.
