Texhoma Fiber has chosen to use ADTRAN (News - Alert), Inc.’s Ethernet over Fiber (EoF) solution to provide flexibility and reliability for SLA-based wholesale broadband and mobile backhaul services for more than 250 miles of fiber optic lines.
ADTRAN’s services are currently being used as the infrastructure foundation for Texhoma.
ADTRAN, Inc. is a provider of telecommunications networking equipment and internetworking solutions. The company, headquartered in Alabama, was founded back in 1986 and was designed to supply network equipment to AT&T (News - Alert).
Since its formation, the firm has adapted its telephony technology to be used in larger areas. In this latest announcement, ADTRAN plans on supplying Texhoma Fiber a high-speed fiber optic transmission, serving thousands of customers.
“ADTRAN’s EoF solution, comprised of the Total Access 5000 and the NetVanata 8000 platforms, offers Texhoma Fiber inherent protection and resiliency across its fiber optic network while at the same time enabling Techoma Fiber to offer higher bandwidths up to 1Gbps and reach greater distances of up to 80km for their customer base,” ADTRAN said in a statement.
“Texhoma Fiber’s need for flexible bandwidth, improved scalability, and increased performance to accelerate new application adoption were key considerations in selecting ADTRAN’s Ethernet solution,” officials held.
An optical fiber is a flexible, transparent fiber made up of glass or plastic. It’s so small that it functions as a waveguide to transmit light between two ends of the fiber.
Basically, it allows communications to transfer over longer distances and at higher bandwidths rates than any other form of communication currently on the market.
Dustin Hilliary, executive vice president for Texhoma Fiber, said this type of technology is in high demand. “We know that Ethernet over Fiber is the most desirable deployment model for our diverse customer base and that our customers turn to us for a high quality experience for their end-users regardless of how or where they are connected to the network,” said Hilliary.
“ADTRAN’s Ethernet solution allows us to simplify the delivery of a universal service by using a common operational method which enables our customers to deploy services to the largest addressable market.”
