Wilcon recently announced that it has deployed its Metro Ethernet network featuring Brocade (News - Alert) MLX series routers in Los Angeles. The new Metro Ethernet network leverages the company’s extensive dark fiber network to provide businesses in the area with best-in-class services and will enable them to meet increasing growth in data traffic. Wilcon is a specialist operator of an extensive network that connects major colocation facilities, data centers, and enterprise locations with dark fiber and lit circuits.

All the data centers and Points of Presence (PoPs) with cores located across LA’s telecom district will now be connected via Wilcon’s Metro Ethernet Network thereby effectively enhancing network resiliency. The company offers Ethernet capabilities to customers, which include point-to-point and point-to-multipoint Layer 2 transport featuring speeds ranging from 10Mbps to 10Gbps.

Brocade MLX routers will enhance Wilcon’s Metro Ethernet Network with wirespeed density, a multitude of rich Carrier Ethernet capabilities, in addition to extensive Layer 2 and Layer 3 capabilities. By leveraging the Brocade solution, Wilcon has successfully enhanced its network to ensure higher scalability, improved performance, and reliability, and optimized operational efficiencies for its customers.
