Silver Companies announced the signing of a partnership deal with SummitIG to deploy advanced dark fiber at the Quantico Corporate Center. The development is expected to enhance secure access and bandwidth across the region. The plan includes fiber network installation from Ashburn to Richmond marketplace with the regeneration facility operating from Quantico Corporate Center in Stafford, Virginia and Ruther Glen. The new dark fiber investment will replace the outdated and oversubscribed infrastructure in the region to enhance bandwidth speed.

In a release, David Newman, Vice President of Silver Companies and the Quantico Corporate Center, said “With SummitIG's dark fiber offering, customers in the Quantico region will have unique connectivity options to multiple carriers and Internet Exchange (IX) points along the network. This is a significant step forward for Stafford County, QCCS and the entire Fredericksburg area. SummitIG’s network should enable companies in this region to fully control their networks at a lower cost and achieve lower latency than previously available.”

As per the terms of the agreement SummitIG would leverage its broad network infrastructure and install a regeneration center at Quantico Corporate Center, along SummitIG’s long haul route. Additionally, plans are underway to install a new IX facility next to the SummitIG regeneration center to enable seamless distribution of the underground dark fiber conduit system between the existing and proposed facility of Quantico Corporate Center.

Speaking of the partnership, Bill Cook, Chief Executive Officer at SummitIG, said “The dark fiber will provide virtually unlimited connectivity to tenants at QCCS. Our unique offering between northern Virginia and Richmond passes through the heart of Stafford County and presents an opportunity to empower and support the growth of companies located within the region.”

Quantico Corporate Center is a leading corporate office park developed by Silver Companies and houses organizations such as BAE Systems, CSC, Camber Corporation, General Dynamics (News - Alert), Marine Corps Systems Command and ManTech International among others. The center also houses a physical location for hosting cyber certification, evaluation and training facilities to support cyber operations.

Silver Companies is a real estate company engaged in acquisition, financing, development, management, selling and leasing properties while SummitIG is engaged in providing customized network solutions and bandwidth infrastructure with focus on the deployment of dark fiber connectivity solutions.
