T5 Data Centers announced the launch of its seventh data center facility in the US, T5@NY which will be based in Westchester County. The new facility will be the company’s first data center to be located in the Northeast and is developed in association with Lincoln Rackhouse. The new purpose-built, powered-shell data center is situated 30 miles towards north of Manhattan, and due to its proximity to New York, the facility will serve as a perfect disaster recovery or “mirrored” data center for enterprises operating in trading, financial services and technology sectors. The new facility is expected to be fully-functional by the second quarter of 2014.
In a release, Aaron Wangenheim, Chief Marketing Officer at T5 Data Centers, said “When we decided to open our T5@NY facility, we applied what we learned from Hurricane Sandy. We chose Briarcliff Manor because we believe it to be one of the safest data center locations in the New York metro, as evidenced by the fact that the area was largely unaffected by Sandy and never lost power. It's also in the heart of a booming technology region. T5@NY is a great addition to our portfolio, expanding our presence into the Northeast and giving us access to new clients seeking data center resiliency and customization.”
T5@NY would also be an ideal laboratory or incubator space for medical research institutes due to its strategic location in the center of New York BioHud Valley, the facility which is the workplace for the largest section of the biotechnology professionals in New York. Westchester County is also an ideal location for T5 Data Centers as the county hosts the headquarters of many multinational giants such as IBM (News - Alert), PepsiCo, Chrysler Financial, New York Life and Liberty Mutual amongst others.
T5 Data Centers owns and operates some of the most crucial data centers in the US providing high flexibility and scalability to deliver an "always on" computing environment to organization working with mission critical business applications. The company’s data centers are completely purpose-built with ideal designing, high levels of redundancy and reliability meeting the power and telecommunication requirements along with 24x7 support staff providing full support for critical business applications.
