Cologix recently announced that it has successfully commissioned phase one of the expansion process for its 1155 University facility in Downtown Montreal. The new data center is the company's seventh facility in Montreal; the company is expecting to complete the second and final phase this year. Planned as an extension of the carrier hotel at 1250 Rene Levesque West, the new 1155 University facility will have a separate fiber ring enabling customers at both facilities to easily interconnect; the fiber ring will support interconnection from more than 100,000 SQF of colocation space. Furthermore, the company's MTL 7 at the new location, even at full capacity can support more than 450 cabinets. Cologix is a leading provider of network neutral interconnection and data center solutions.
In a release, Grant van Rooyen, Chief Executive Officer, Cologix said “Our customers’ growth validates Montreal’s growing importance as a network hub in North America.
