Israel recently got its first 100G Optical Network, and this was made possible by using ECI’s Apollo packet-optical transport system.
Israel’s telecommunications company Bezeq (News - Alert) International took up the task of deploying the 100G Optical Network, to cater the needs of it numerous large enterprise and business customers, who were demanding an increase in speed and capacity of the network, along with disaster recovery contingencies.
The company has now established 100G optical links to aggregate ten channels of 10G over a single wavelength, including Ethernet, FC and SDH channels, providing an economical tenfold surge in network capacity.

The new network backed by ECI’s Apollo Packet-Optical Transport System now serves Bezeq International’s customers, by lessening capacity blockages during high-usage times.
