Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (JEC), provider of technical professional and construction services, has recently won new four years Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract from the Port Authority of Allegheny County in Pennsylvania. The value of the contract has not been revealed by the company.
The Port Authority’s 26.2-mile light rail system serves 215,000 daily riders and is an essential part of public transportation system.
As per the contract, JEC is responsible to provide professional engineering design services for light rail transit systems, power systems, field communication systems, system integration and start-up, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, rail and track systems, operating systems, operations control center communications, light rail vehicles, and value engineering.
Speaking on this occasion, Jacobs Group vice president, Randy Pierce, said that they are pleased to have this opportunity to leverage their light rail experience to deliver quality services to the Port Authority of Allegheny County, the people of Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities.
