System designers seeking to utilize optical transmitter and receiver modules that provide quick implementation into various fiber extension products can now start leveraging Omron Network Products, LLC (ONP)’s new optical transmitter and receiver modules, SX51-02C, which are rated to handle 14Gb/s of data over a single multimode fiber.
Omron Network Products, LLC (ONP) is a manufacturer of high-performance optical modules for Video over Fiber (VoF) and high-speed-data transmission. Its specialized products facilitate the transmission of various High Definition (HD) video signals and other large-bandwidth data on a single fiber.
With the help of the company’s latest optical transmitter and receiver modules, P1TX6B-SX51x-02C and P1RX6B-SX51x-02C, users can achieve transmission distances up to one kilometer. These SX51-02C modules can deliver 14Gb/second over a single fiber, said the officials with ONP.
"The 02C TX and RX Modules are unique in combining single-fiber 14Gb/s transmission capability, 1Gb/s backchannel data rate, and 1-kilometer range, and supporting both USB and Ethernet," said Martin Smith, director of marketing, ONP, in a statement.
Smith added, "In addition, the modules surpass all competitive optical modules in user customizability, enabling systems designers to tailor them for a wide range of advanced applications in many industries including medical, legal and education."
As a part of a family of new ONP products launching in the next 12 months, the new SX51-02C modules are designed for easy use and quick implementation into various fiber extension products.
According to ONP, the SX51-02C modules are protocol-agnostic data modules that include a pre-programmed laser driver, an integrated SC clip, and a durable metal housing with EMI shielding. All these features support the modules' high-performance capabilities.
In recent news, ONP demonstrated a new bidirectional optical module, P1xX6B-SX51x-02A, which is capable of transmitting 14Gb/s downstream and 155Mb upstream, all over a single multimode fiber. This product can be used to transmit signals from a distance of 300m to 1km.
