Sonasoft Intros Disaster Recovery Capability for Archiving Solution

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Sonasoft reportedly has added its disaster recovery capability to its archiving solution. The company provides two popular solutions: SonaSafe for Email Archiving and SonaSafe for SQL Server.

The former successfully meets regulatory compliance and eDiscovery needs of organizations. The second solution provides data protection and disaster recovery for Microsoft SQL Servers.

Sonasoft (News - Alert) has combined both the solutions to create an offering that provides disaster recovery, high availability and data protection for archive server through a common platform.

The company points out that it has become very important for businesses to implement solutions to meet their eDiscovery and Compliance needs, as well as protect the archive server in case of a disaster.

SonaSafe for Email Archiving captures all incoming, outgoing and internal emails and then store them in archive databases as a Single Instance Store (SIS). The solution supports Exchange Server 2000, 2003 and 2007 and stores data in SQL databases.

The SonaSafe for SQL Server ensures that the archive databases are backed up and replicated to a disaster recovery site. As both the archiving and disaster recovery solutions are built on a common platform, customers get a two-in-one solution. This will directly benefit the customers who earlier had no choice but to buy two disparate solutions from two different vendors. These different solutions were not integrated and were also priced three to four times more than the SonaSafe solution.
