Limelight Networks Completes Acquisition of EyeWonder

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Limelight Networks, Inc., has acquired EyeWonder, Inc. EyeWonder (News - Alert) is an interactive digital advertising provider, extending the reach of online rich media and interactive video ads to digital device displays.

"Limelight Networks (News - Alert), now together with EyeWonder, is well positioned to capitalize on the shift of content consumption and advertising spend towards the growing world of Internet-connected devices," said Jeff Lunsford, chairman and CEO, Limelight Networks, Inc, in a statement.

Lunsford said that EyeWonder's value-added monetization services and Limelight Networks' delivery, storage, computing and consulting services will enable publishers, advertisers, agencies, and enterprises to unlock the full value of their online initiatives.

"We are pleased our respective shareholders approved this transaction, and we look forward to building long-term value as one of the largest and most technologically-advanced service providers in the rich media publishing and advertising sectors," he said.

Limelight Networks, Inc. provides on-demand software, platform and infrastructure services that help global businesses reach and engage audiences on any mobile or Internet-connected device, enabling them to enhance their brand presence, build stronger customer relationships, optimize their advertising, and monetize their digital assets.

Back in March Limelight Networks had announced new and upgraded services designed to address the evolving requirements of Global 1000 financial, public sector, and enterprise IT departments and operators of e-commerce storefronts.

These new capabilities meet the needs of companies looking to reach customers, prospects, employees, and other targeted end users on an array of mobile and connected devices.

Each new service introduced fully supports Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6), the next-generation protocol that is transforming the basis of communications on the Internet. As companies continue to strategize for their own IPv6 migrations, they can gain peace of mind knowing that all Limelight content delivery services and the company's global network platform are fully IPv6-enabled.
