In recent weeks, we’ve talked a lot on this community about how Tata Communications (

add value to core skill sets through a Channel Partner (

helping an increasing number of telcos handle 'transfer services' – such as network engineering, implementation and operations, as well as service planning, fulfillment and assurance – on an offshore basis.
Even before today, the global communications provider had a staggeringly strong base in India.
Now, Tata Communications has unveiled a nearly 55,000-square-foot data center – its largest such facility to date in India. The data center is designed to offer collocation, managed hosting and storage, as well as CDN and managed security services.
Located in the city of Pune, the IDC (

According to Sunil Joshi, president of the India, and APAC & MENA regions at Tata Communications Limited, the center will provide a state-of-the-art infrastructure for supporting mission critical environments, with advanced cooling, power, redundancy, and sustainability features to ensure that clients’ critical systems and applications are readily available while optimizing energy efficiency.
“The center has enough resources to double its area to be able to continue to serve the future needs of our customers,” he said. “The launch of this datacenter is a demonstration of Tata Communications commitment to its India and International customers to support their business needs while providing end-to-end solution for connectivity, storage and hosting capabilities.”
The Pune data center will serve the hosting, storage and connectivity needs of large enterprises and SMBs in the region, while also serving as a disaster recovery facility for enterprises that are present in other key business centers across India or nearby countries.
The data center operations and services are monitored and managed on-site and remotely, from its centralized Managed Services Operations Center (MSOC) on a 24x7x365 basis and by a team of highly experienced technical, communications and facilities staff. Here’s a
data sheet detailing facility, as well as a
global tour and more information on
data center services from Tata.
