Mellanox Technologies, a supplier of end-to-end connectivity solutions for data center servers and storage systems, has announced that its BridgeX BX5020 gateway system solution has been awarded 'Best of Interop' (News - Alert) in the data center server and storage category.
The award recognized the solution's "unrivaled" performance, cost saving and efficiency benefits of converging the data center over 40Gb/s InfiniBand, said company officials.
The BridgeX BX5020 is a 40Gb/s InfiniBand to Ethernet and/or Fibre Channel gateway system in a 1 RU form factor. In combination with ConnectX-2 adapters, this solution enables enterprise data centers, cloud and computing server clusters to share the same fabric for computing, networking and storage traffic.
Additionally, server applications that rely on familiar Ethernet and Fibre Channel interfaces can operate transparently and access existing LAN and SAN infrastructures, said company officials.
Eyal Waldman, chairman, president and CEO at Mellanox (News - Alert) Technologies, said that Mellanox's BridgeX BX5020 gateway system delivers the "highest port density at the lowest cost, power and smallest form factor" compared to other converged I/O gateway solutions available today, providing end-users with "unmatched" application performance and networking efficiency.
