Caltrol, a process management and automation company, has reportedly selected tw telecom, provider of managed voice, Internet and data networking solutions for businesses, for its advanced voice and data services.

Company officials at Caltrol said that they have adapted tw telecom's (News - Alert) offerings to avail voice and data services across the company's nine multi-state locations.

"When we evaluated providers based on network performance, reliability, customer service and ability to meet our unique needs, tw telecom was the clear winner," said Stephen Murphy, IT director at Caltrol, in a statement.

Under the multi-year agreement, tw telecom is assigned to connect Caltrol's headquarters in Las Vegas to its metro fiber network and nationwide IP backbone, as well as provide managed IP VPN services to the company's eight additional locations in California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii.

"Caltrol has a distinguished 75-year history of meeting the process control equipment and solutions needs of customers across the country," said Deb Carmachel, vice president and general manager for tw telecom in Las Vegas, in a statement. "We're pleased that tw telecom voice and data services will help Caltrol continue that legacy."

With third highest market share of retail Ethernet ports in service, tw telecom claims to connect more commercial buildings to its fiber network than any other competitive communications provider. The company has its own fiber network infrastructure and IP backbone and robust product portfolio and national/local customer care teams to support mission critical enterprise applications and to deliver the industry's most sought after customer experience.

The company was recently in news for expanding its MPLS IP VPN service portfolio into 64 countries around the globe. Company officials said that this added capability enables the company to connect a customer’s voice, Internet and data traffic seamlessly, reliably and securely across town, across the country and now to international destinations.
