Mocana has been chosen to provide embedded security and device integrity for JDSU's TestPoint family of broadband test solutions.

JDSU (News - Alert) provides communications test and measurement solutions and optical products for telecommunications service providers, cable operators, and network equipment manufacturers.

The company’s TestPoint family is known for offering a flexible and cost-effective telecom and datacom test solution for production and service verification testing (SVT). A modular platform included in the solutions deliver the all important versatility in configuring interface types, transmission rates, protocols, and port density.

JDSU’s TestPoint also supports multiple rates on single modules and features easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) and simple automation interfaces. The provider was looking for security partners, and after searching for available vendors in the market the decided upon Mocana (News - Alert) and their super-fast, super-small SSH client/server NanoSSH Advanced solution.

The decision to choose Mocana was based on its small footprint, high performance and ease-of-implementation. Mocana’s NanoSSH is designed for portability and it is already available for more than 30 operating systems and 70 CPU platforms. This solution has given JDSU a lot of flexibility when expanding the TestPoint product line to new hardware platforms.

NanoSSH comes with RADIUS client, specifically designed to speed product development. The solution provides world class device security services for resource-constrained environments as well as a holistic approach for securing networked devices and services.

Mocana said it is best for resource-constrained devices as well as high-traffic enterprise and federal environments where performance is critical.

In a release, Guylain Barlow, senior product line manager in JDSU's communications test and measurement business segment, said he is pleased with Mocana's NanoSSH software that helped accelerate the development cycle for secure connectivity to the TestPoint product.

Barlow observed Mocana's technology as the fastest, smallest SSH implementation they saw to date.

“We're proud to work with JDSU to help them layer in security that's robust, transparent and won't degrade the performance of TestPoint devices," added Adrian Turner (News - Alert), president and CEO of Mocana.
