Fluke Networks Acquires ClearSight Networks

By Divya Narain, TMCnet Contributor

Everett, Wash.-based specialist in network installation and analysis Fluke Networks has reportedly purchased the assets of ClearSight Networks, a provider of network analysis tools for real-time application monitoring, protocol analysis and troubleshooting.

The ClearSight Analyzer and Network Time Machine product lines provide network engineers valuable insights into performance, security and anomalies. Fluke Networks (News - Alert) is also set to gain from ClearSight’s leading protocol analysis, deep packet inspection and forensic stream-to-disk technologies.

“ClearSight’s network analysis solutions maximize network engineers’ ability to actively monitor critical links carrying high volumes of network traffic for performance bottlenecks, security anomalies and intermittent disruptions,” said Arif Kareem, president, Fluke Networks. “ClearSight’s powerful historical analysis, when coupled with deep packet inspection and monitoring, provide the comprehensive visibility needed to isolate, diagnose and resolve problems before they impact network performance.”

“Fluke Networks’ philosophy of providing Network SuperVision -- giving users superior visibility and insight into networking infrastructures they can’t get anywhere else -- is a natural fit with ClearSight,” said Sam Li, technology founder of ClearSight. “Our products have defined ease-of-use in protocol analysis and application analysis visualization. We provide tools that are easy enough for less experienced technicians yet deep enough for complex root cause analysis by senior engineers. FNET delivers similar breakthroughs in ease of use across their entire line – our combination is powerful.”

Fluke Networks has a proven track of providing solutions for the installation and certification, testing, monitoring and analysis of copper, fiber and wireless networks to enterprises and carriers in 50 countries. The company constantly builds up on its portfolio by unveiling new products.

In August, TMCnet reported that Fluke Networks acquired AirMagnet, a provider of performance, security and compliance solutions for wireless LANs.
