MACH, Accuris Networks Team to Intro New Service for Prepaid CDMA Customers

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Provider of hub-based mobile communications exchange solutions MACH (News - Alert) has launched a new service that enables prepaid CDMA customers to roam on GSM networks.

The company has launched the service in collaboration with Accuris (News - Alert) Networks, a provider of inter-standard and converged solutions. The service is offered under the MACH brand, and is delivered using the Accuris technology platform.

MACH with Accuris Networks (News - Alert) is said to be the first provider to offer an inter-standard roaming service for prepaid mobile users. Additionally, company officials said that they are also the first to offer a fully integrated prepaid and post-paid inter-standard roaming capability to CDMA operators.

The new solution adds new capabilities to MACH’s Inter-Standard Roaming portfolio, and complements the existing solutions for Inter-Standard post-paid and mobile internet roaming.

Company officials said that the turnkey prepaid solution can be deployed using existing connections. It offers prepaid end-users all of the services that are available on their home network, even when they are travelling abroad. And, by offering real-time authentication solutions for pre-paid billing systems, MACH unlocks the pre-paid CDMA roaming market.

Artur Michalczyk, chief operating officer at MACH, said that the company’s mobile operator customers will reap three immediate benefits from this solution.

First, the customers will be able to “immediately” realise previously lost revenue streams by enabling users to roam on their existing prepaid SIM.  Michalczyk said that this will help them command a greater share of revenues that would otherwise be spent on technologies like local prepaid GSM SIM cards or hotel and airport WiFi (News - Alert).

Second, they can also enhance the service they deliver to their customers, and increase customer loyalty, by providing a service, wherever the user is roaming, said Michalczyk.

He added that third benefit is that operators can provide complete voice and messaging services without the time and investment required to build their own platform, and this is possible due to end-to-end, one number inter-operability.

“We have consistently led the field in terms of inter-working solutions and now for the first time our AccuROAM platform will enable over 200M prepaid CDMA subscribers to have the opportunity to roam onto GSM networks,” said Gilbert Little, chairman at Accuris Networks, adding that this new announcement represents a significant breakthrough and presents a major opportunity to the global CDMA community.
