Reliance Globalcom is providing managed Ethernet VPLS services for
Richco, a global manufacturer of plastic components.
The company reportedly won the contract based on its strong service level agreements (SLAs) and expansive private undersea cable network. These networks are able to reach Richco’s key manufacturing facilities in China, the United Kingdom (U.K.) and the United States (U.S.).
According to a press release, Richco is leveraging Reliance Globalcom’s (

In the release, David T. Bryan, director of global information technology, Richco, emphasized the importance of network availability for global enterprises. This availability is important for ensuring accessibility of business-critical data at any given time from anywhere on the network.
It is not easy to achieve this goal, though, as companies have to overcome latency issues that undermine productivity and the bottom line. Bryan appreciated Reliance Globalcom for making the transition from an IP VPN to a VPLS network a smooth experience.
The alliance has significantly improved the efficiency of communications with the company’s operations in Xiamen, China. Reliance Globalcom’s new network infrastructure is now supporting the delivery of Richco’s data traffic and allowing them to provide innovative design solutions to meet a range of fastening and routing requirements worldwide.
Ted Raffetto, president, Americas region, Reliance Globalcom explained that the company combines the right technologies into the right solution for the customer’s business. The solutions have allowed Richco to realize significant business efficiencies across their global operations.
Reliance Globalcom has delivered a number of benefits to Richco such as reduced inventory levels through global supply chain coordination and improved customer service and manufacturing support through coordination of regional design teams.
In addition, they have also improved financial control and tracking through real-time visibility to remote systems.
