Vidyo Features Telepresence Sessions at Interop New York 2009

Vidyo (News - Alert) reportedly illustrated its patented VidyoRouter, a device which provides users with the only Scalable Video Coding solution that does away with the Multipoint Conference Unit, at the Interop (News - Alert) conference this month.

During the conference, which took place Nov. 16 to 20, Mark Noble, director of product marketing at Vidyo, spoke about “Personal Telepresence (News - Alert)-Why You Can’t Work Remotely Without It.” During the session, Noble discussed various technological advancements made by the global population and addressed the central question of why users still resort to the practice of disruption normal workflows to make use of fixed room telepresence.
Participants were asked to look out for challenges and performable solutions for executing Personal Telepresence Solutions. This was integral to the establishment of a more efficient tele-workforce, he noted.
Adi Regev, vice president of products at Vidyo, spoke at a session about  “Deploying Video Conferencing Solutions.”  The session, headed by John Bartlett, vice president, NetForecast Analyst, tried to explore deeply the personal video conferencing segment and the feasibilities of its installation. Representatives from Polycom, LifeSize (News - Alert) Communications and Skype were also part of the panel. Regev vendors also illustrated the deployment process.
Vidyo was recently received a patent for its VidyoRouter framework that provides dependable, low latency, multipoint conferencing across any IP network especially the Internet. The company was among the first to enable Personal Telepresence for multi-party video conferences utilizing a personal computer, with HD quality over converged IP networks.
