TMCNet Dialer Software Week in Review

By Steve Anderson, Contributing TMCnet Writer

It was a big week in news for dialer software, and plenty of news came in from all across the sector. Our global online community had plenty of items to relay to you, so let's all settle in and run through the high points of the week in dialer software, with our Week in Review!

First out of the gate was Genoo, a marketing automation provider who brought out its new SalesView system. The SalesView system is specifically designed to incorporate easily into CRM software and was especially meant for small- to medium-sized businesses. SalesView allows marketing and sales to work easily together, sharing leads, tracking actions related to those leads, and more effectively measuring the marketing contribution to sales numbers – something that previously had been more of a gray area in some cases.

Next came word from InsideSales.com (News - Alert), who brought out a new feature for its PowerDialer for Salesforce system. The feature, dubbed PowerStandings, is a gamification system designed to provide a bit of competitive edge within a company by taking advantage of what is seen as the competitive nature of sales reps. PowerStandings allows for a set of tools directly with PowerDialer for Salesforce 5.0 that allow managers to present new challenges to the sales force, like closed revenue, daily dials, and other vital metrics that contribute to the success of the sales team.

We then got a report from Granite Horizon, who presented its new Marketing Studio system, a setup designed to automate not only sales lead development processes, but the online marketing process as a whole. The Granite Horizon Marketing Studio works with current CMS systems to record contact information from those inputting it into the client's website, allowing the client to more easily convert that information into actionable marketing lead lists.

Next, FinancialForce.com brought out the newest version of its FinancialForce Accounting software, which released not only a host of accounting-related solutions (which are always important for any business) but some new features to make it more easily compatible with Salesforce's CRM systems. There has often been a disconnect between financial and sales divisions of the same company, yet the two are more closely related than some would believe.

FinancialForce looks to bridge the gap and improve customer service by improving some sections of accounting.

Finally, there was a report in from SFVision, who brought out a new copy of SFVision for Salesforce, specifically geared toward the mobile sales professional, thanks to its launch on iPad. With mobile devices like iPads becoming a steadily larger part of the outside sales environment, SFVision looks to improve the productivity of outside sales by doing things like allowing the iPad camera to turn business cards into contact information, and improving the calendar function by bringing together Salesforce's camera with that already on the iPad, the iCal.

There was quite a bit going on in dialer software this week, with a big focus on how it can drive sales efforts by improving productivity and bringing in other divisions that may not believe themselves to be part of the overall sales process. Though not everyone can be a sales rep, it's important to show just how much of every division's activities are related to and powered by sales.

Our global online community is constantly keeping watch for more news in the dialer software segment, so be sure to join us back here next week for all the biggest news in the sector, as well as every weekend for our Week in Review coverage!
