Oracle (News - Alert) Corp., has agreed to buy Secerno to add to its security applications that protect online privacy and prevent cyber attacks.
The transaction probably will close before the end of June, Redwood City, California-based Oracle said in a statement. The terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
'The Secerno acquisition is in direct response to increasing customer challenges around mitigating database security risk,' said Andrew Mendelsohn, Oracle's senior vice president of database server technologies, in a statement announcing the deal.
'Secerno's database firewall product acts as a first line of defense against external threats and unauthorized internal access with a protective perimeter around Oracle and non-Oracle databases,' Mendelsohnn said.

Oracle Utilities Group Vice President of Product Strategy and Management, Linda Jackman, will speak on a panel during the executive summit session, 'Latest Approaches to Applying Technology to Customer Service' on Tuesday, May 25 at 2 p.m. CDT (News - Alert).
